Atkinson County Citizen - December 11, 2008
 Mrs. Mary Alice Corbitt, age 78 of Pearson, GA passed away Tuesday, December 
2, 2008 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA following an extended 
illness.
 A native of Atkinson Co., Mrs. Corbitt was born August 21, 1930, daughter of 
Robert and Kadee Sumpter Taft. She was a homemaker and faithful member of 
Elbethel Christian Church where her husband serves as pastor.
 Survivors include husband, Curtis Corbitt of Pearson, GA; sons, Marlow Corbitt 
and wife Donna of Axson, GA and Ashley Corbitt and wife, Diane of Atlanta, GA; 
five grandchildren, Mark Corbitt of Valdosta, GA, Kristy Shaw of Valdosta, GA, 
Rachel Horton of Athens, GA, Taylor Corbitt of Chicago, ILL and Nathan Corbitt 
of Atlanta, GA; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also 
survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Corbitt were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 
with Rev. Marvin Goodman officiating. The eulogy was given by Mrs. Catherine 
Tanner. Special musical selections included, "More Like the Master" rendered by 
the congregation, accompanied by Catherine Tanner at the piano; "We'll Meet By 
the River" rendered by soloist Pam Huffstuttler. Soft music for the prelude and 
postlude was provided by Catherine Tanner, pianist.
 The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Steve Cain, Bobby Dasher, Lee Corbitt, 
Danny Henderson, James Gore, Jr. Daniel Corbitt.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
