Atkinson County Citizen - January 15, 2009
 Mr. Terry Courson, age 64, of Pearson, GA passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 
at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA following an extended illness.

 A native of Clinch Co., Mr. Courson was born Feb. 22, 1944 son of Tavell and 
Jessie Bell Smith Courson. He was a retired school teacher with the Atkinson 
County BOE at Pearson Elementary School where he served as videographer for 
most sporting events, band concerts and extra-curricular activities. Mr. 
Courson was a member of Sweetwater United Methodist Church.

 Survivors include, wife, Regina Davis Courson of Pearson, GA, 3 sons, John 
Courson and wife, Michele of Pearson, GA, Jamie Courson of St. Marys, GA and 
Carlton Taft of Montgomery, AL; 1 daughter, Becky Davis and husband, Lester of 
Pearson, GA, 1 brother, Larry Courson of Pearson, GA, 1 sister, Linda Sue 
Harper of Folley, AL, 5 grandchildren, John Tavell Courson, Sierra Courson, 
Brittany Davis, Marshall Davis and Andrew Davis.

 Funeral services for Mr. Courson were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009 
at Sweetwater United Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Littleton officiating. 
Special musical selections included "We Shall Meet Again" rendered by soloist 
Larry Johnson with Michael Johnson accompanying at the piano, and "I Firmly 
Promise You" rendered by soloist/pianist Michael Johnson. The interment 
followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.

 Serving as active pallbearers were: Jesse Wayne Mizell, Brett Mizell, Edwin 
Davis, Jr., Cleveland Register, Glen Walker and Terry Morris.

 Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Jeff Kirkland, Tom Morris, Barbara Wall, 
Earlene Thomas, Charles Smith, Roger Smith, Linda Knowles, Lloyd McDonald and 
Robert Bazemore.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
