Atkinson County Citizen - February 28, 2013
Mrs. Eva Ferguson Cowart, age 90 of Pearson, GA passed away Friday, February 
22, 2013 at Shady Acres Convalescent Center in Douglas, GA following an 
extended illness.
 
 A native of Ben Hill County, Mrs. Cowart was born June 2, 1922, daughter of 
George and Mary Wilson Ferguson. She had made her home in Atkinson County for 
most of her life. She was a homemaker and also kept children in her home for 
many years. Until her death Friday, she was the oldest living member of Ozias 
Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by an infant son and her 
husband Riley Coward.
 Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

 Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Cowart were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, 
February 24, 2013 at Union Hill Cemetery with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. 
Michael Johnson officiating. Special music “I’m Not Afraid” was rendered by 
Michael Johnson (guitar). 

 The interment followed in Union Hill Cemetery.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
