Atkinson County Citizen - February 16, 2006
 Cathy Davis  Mrs. Cathy Lynn Dorminey Davis, age 44, of Pearson, passed away 
on Saturday, Feb. 4, at home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Davis, a 
native of Coffee County, was born Sept. 25, 1961, daughter of John Tommie and 
Wylene Harper Dorminey. She was a secretary at South Georgia College for 16 
years. Her church membership was at Saint Illa Baptist Church.  Survivors 
include: husband, George Darryl Davis of Pearson; son, Christopher Davis of 
Pearson; parents, Tommie and Wylene Dorminey of Douglas; brother, Michael 
(Teresa) Dorminey; sister, Tammie (Michael) Bracewell; and several nieces and 
nephews.  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 6, at Saint Illa 
Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy McMillan officiating. Charles and Tammy Wood 
provided the special music. Burial followed in the Saint Illa Church Cemetery.  
Active pallbearers were: Myron McKinnon, Jody Stone, Craig Stone, Jeremy 
Dorminey, Dan Dorminey, Ricky Courson, Danny Davis and Timothy Davis.  Honorary 
pallbearers were: Members of the South Georgia College faculty and staff. 
Memorials may be made to the Kathy Dorminey Davis Scholarship that has been set 
up at SGC.  Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
