Born January 23, 1927, the 12th child of the late John Burton and Georgia Moree Shiver, she spent her years lovingly raising and caring for her family. She was a proud member of the Church of God for 60 years and was devoted to her Christian faith. She taught Adult Sunday School weekly for over 30 years and was a faithful student of God’s Word. She also was a very talented cook and l loved to quilt and crochet. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of n nearly 50 years, Latimer Jackson (Bud) Davis. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Susan Davis of Nashville and Tommy and Sandra Davis of Alapaha; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joan Sheffield of Pooler and Kathy and Michael Paulk of Willacoochee; nine grandchildren, April Shefield and Rhonda Sheffield of Pooler, Josh Davis, Rosanna (Bradley) Williams, all of Nashville, Mike (Shana) Paulk of Pelham, Kari Paulk of Douglas, Carroll (William) Jackson and Kristie (Dean) Seymour all of Alapaha, Cassandra Davis of Riverview, FL; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her homegoing service was held at Willacoochee Church of God on April 29 at 4 p.m. with Revs. Michael Paulk and Jeremy DeLoach officiating. Special words of remembrance were offered by grandchildren, Mike Paulk and April Sheffield. Special music selections were "Glory Avenue law, Joan Sheffield of Pooler and Kathy and Michael Paulk of Willacoochee; nine g grandchildren, April Shefield and Rhonda Sheffield of Pooler, Josh Davis, R Rosanna (Bradley) Williams, all of Nashville, Mike (Shana) Paulk of Pelham, K Kari Paulk of Douglas, Carroll (William) Jackson and Kristie (Dean) Seymour all o of Alapaha, Cassandra Davis of Riverview, FL; eight great grandchildren; s several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were grandchildren, William Jackson, Carroll Jackson, Josh Davi Davis, April Sheffield, Rhonda Sheffield, mike Paulk, Brad Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Glenda Yawn and members of the Willacoochee Senior Cit Citizens Center. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
