M. Delk, age 85, of Axson died February 1, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Clinch County, he was born June 15, 1927, the son of the late Clifford George and Liza Giddens Delk. He was a retired truck driver, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and a member of Lang Country Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Winston Delk. Survivors include four daughters, Eva Delk Cook and husband Erman of Pearson, Patricia Roberson and husband Joe of Nashville, Beulah Bradford of Nashville, Janice Nisen and husband Johnny of Ray City; six sons, Ralph Delk and wife Faye of Valdosta, James Delk and wife Mary Ann of Sparks, Wiley Delk and wife Bobbie and Carl Delk and wife Deborah, all of Nashville, Johnny Delk and wife Sherry of Pearson, and Lonnie Griffis Delk of Douglas; former wife and caregiver, Lurainie Crosby Delk of Pearson; two brothers, Roscoe Delk of San Antonio, TX and Ken J. Delk of Atlanta; four aunts, Doris Salvey, Lorie Pittman and Naomi Jeffords, all of Homerville, Evelyn Capan of Jacksonville, GA; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on February 5 at Lang Country Church with Rev. Raymond Cason and Rev. Hardy Crosby officiating. Musical selections included, “Walk Out of Sky,” “Eternity Has Two,” and “Lead Me Home.” Interment was in Lang’s Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Bubba Nisen, Jacob Reddick, Clyde Edge, Chris Delk, Ronald Joe Roberson, Jr., Glen Delk Griffis. Relihan Funeral home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
