Born September 8, 1930 in Douglas, GA, Mr. Floyd was the son of Charlie C. and Gussie Paulk Floyd. He had made his home in Willacoochee for most of his life and was a retired fertilizer/chemical salesman for Kerr Magee and Carolina Eastern. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. His church membership was at Willacoochee First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Tensie Davis Floyd and three sisters, Martha F. McCrea, Mary F. Reason and Mildred F. Munchel. Survivors include; 3 sons John Wesley Floyd and wife Sandy of Columbus, GA, Joe Ashley Floyd and wife Nancy of Winder, GA, David Neal Floyd and wife Deidra of Willacoocchee, GA; daughter, Sherry Denise Music and husband Ronald of Willacoochee, GA; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Floyd were held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Bill Huffstuttler officiating. Special music “Go Rest High on the Mountain” was presented by CD. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were grandsons: Joey Floyd, Neal Floyd, Ashley Floyd, Hampton Floyd, Jonathan Floyd, Whitley Simons. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Knowles, Jimmy McCrea, Johnny McCrea, Randall Norman, Warren, Carlton Paulk. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
