Atkinson County Citizen - February 2005
Mrs. Quida Moore Gibbs, age 83, of Willacoochee, GA, passed away Tuesday 
morning, Feb. 1, 2005 at Appling Healthcare System in Baxley, GA. following an 
extended illness.
 A native of Atkinson Co., Mrs. Gibbs was born Nov. 1, 1921, daughter of Dr. 
Henry and Margaret Fletcher Moore. She worked for many years as the City Clerk 
for the City of Willacoochee. She attended both Methodist and Baptist Church 
services in Willacoochee and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Gibbs was 
preceded in death by her husband, Earl S. Gibbs.
 Survivors include two daughters, Debra Shuman and husband, Jack of Baxley, GA 
and Tamara Gibbs and husband, Marion Walls of Leesburg, GA; one sister, 
Daughtrey Paulk of Claxton, GA; and two grandchildren, Ava Shuman and Ashley 
Shuman. Several nieces and nephews, also survive.
 Graveside funeral services and interment for Mrs. Gibbs were held at 11 a.m. 
Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Julian 
Tucker officiating and Mrs. Margie Pearce giving the Eulogy.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
