A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Giddens was born July 10, 1938, daughter of Tom and Emma Walsh Crosby. She was a retired hairdresser of many years and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Crosby. Survivors include her husband, Revis Giddens of Pearson, GA; two daughters, Dawn Hayes and husband Jimmy of Elizabethtown, PA and EmStarr Cribbs and husband Ronnie of Pearson, GA; brothers Tom Crosby, Jr., of Waycross, GA and Curtis Crosby and wife Margie of Pearson, GA; sister, Reba Kirkland of Pearson, GA. Funeral services for Mrs.. Giddens were held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2006 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, GA with Bishop Lamar Park, Bishop Steve Sirmans and Bishop Dan Vickers officiating and Brother Ronnie Cribbs giving the eulogy. Special musical selections included "Nearer, My God, To Thee" rendered by Angie Odum with Tonya Cecil accompanying at the piano, "I Need The Every Hour" and "Abide With Me, Tis Eventide" rendered by the congregation under the direction of Mandy Corbitt with Tonya Cecil accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Tonya Cecil, pianist. The interment followed in Carver Cemetery in Douglas, GA. with the dedication of the grave by Bishop Lamar Park. Serving as active pallbearers were Masin Cribbs, David White, Shad Sirmans, Neal Jordan, Jerome Crosby, James Clement, McKay Youngblood, Tim Cecil. Serving was honorary pallbearers were The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Relief Society Sisters. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
