A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Goodman was born January 18, 1922, daughter of Hobson G. (Son) and Lora Fussell Corbitt. She had made her home in Florida for many years before moving back to Pearson, GA and then to Cadwell, GA. She worked for many years with Plymouth Citrus Co. She was a former member of Eastern Star and her church membership was at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Woodrow Goodman preceded her in death. Survivors include: 3 sons, Rev. Marvin Goodman and wife, Margie of Blackshear, GA, Larry Goodman and wife, Dorothy of Cadwell, GA and Tony Goodman and wife Patricia of Cadwell, GA; 1 daughter, Shelia L. Parker and husband Ronald of Mt. Dora, FL; 1 brother, Curtis Corbitt of Pearson, GA; 2 sisters, Cora Dasher of Albany, GA and Beatrice Pounds of Deland, FL. 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Goodman were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church near Pearson, GA with Rev. Greg Lowery officiating. Special musical selections included, "Just a Rose Will Do," "Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It All," and "Glad Reunion Day" rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Derrell Youngblood and Mr. and Mrs. Bo Fender with Mrs. Francine Fender at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was rendered by Mrs. Francine Fender, pianist. The interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were, Tony Goodman, Jr., Patrick Goodman, Brooks Pippin, Jeff Goodman, Mike Brown and Joshua Peter.
