Born Sept. 7, 1918 in Atkinson County, Mr. Goodman was the son of James Hardy and Nancy Solomon Goodman. He had made his home in Cadwell since 1997 and was a former resident of Pearson, GA. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Orange Lodge F&AM #36 in Apopka, FL. His church membership was at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Louise Corbitt Goodman of Cadwell, GA; 3 sons, Rev. Daniel Marvin Goodman and wife Margie of Stapleton, GA, Larry C. Goodman and wife Dorothy of Cadwell, GA and Tony R. Goodman and wife Patricia of Cadwell, GA; daughter, Shelia L. Parker and husband Ronald of Mt. Dora, FL; half brother, Rev. Ben Jones of Jacksonville, FL. 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Goodman were held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2004 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Goodman, Rev. Greg Lowery and Rev. Ben Jones officiating. Special music included "Amazing Grace" presented by the attending congregation with Francine Fender at the piano, "Beulah Land" rendered by soloist Jason Fender with Francine Fender at the piano and "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy" rendered by Michele Harrell, Alicia Amerson and Jason Fender with tape accompaniment. Pianist Francine Fender provided soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude. The interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Matt Parker, Tim Parker, Jeff Goodman, Mike Caron, Patrick Goodman, Tony Goodman, Mike Brown and Eric Patz.
