A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Gore was born June 10, 1936, son of Jessamine Gore. He retired after working 31 years as a line inspector at Brockway Standard in Homerville, GA and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Allene Gore of Pearson, GA, two sons; James Parley Gore, Jr. and wife Sandra of Pearson, GA, and Greg Gore and wife Kateryna of Douglas, GA; two grandchildren, Brandi Forsyth and husband Jake of Waycross, GA and Maya Gore of Douglas, GA and great grandchild Hunter Forsyth. Funeral services for Mr. Gore were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Futch and Rev. Tim Blanton officiating. Special musical selections included, "Just One Rose Will Do" and "Beulah Lane" rendered by Soloist, Derrick Soles with Lisa Cater accompanying at the piano and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the congregation with Debra Suggs accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Debra Suggs, pianist. The interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Donald Barlow, Ricky Barlow, Pat Brown, Brett Daniels, Terry Palmer, L.C. Smith, Wade Spivey. Honorary pallbearers included Louis Spivey, Fred Brown, Buck Morris, Hinky Matthews, Paul Tyre, Leroy Broussard, Chester Brown, Ron Daniels, Morris Tanner, Jimmy Corbitt, Dale Mixon, W.M.
