Born in Pierce County on January 21, 1964, Jay had lived most of his life in Pie Pierce County but had also lived at Homes are US owned by Shelia Gaskins in Wil Willacoochee for several years and most recently had lived in Albany at Albany Hea Healthcare. He had attended the Workshop and Training Center in Pearson and attended the Mo Mormon Church. He loved to hunt and fish and had caught a 8 pound bass on a cane pole in L Lochloosa, FL and a 2 pound speck in Crescent Lake. Jay also love to ride go-karts and four wheelers and so loved going to the Wa Waycross Motor Speedway where he had the privilege to start a race wi with "Gentlemen start your engines." His favorite drivers at Waycross Motor Sp Speedway were Mike Carter and Mark Carter and his favorite NASCAR driver was Da Dale Earnhart, Jr. Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Henderson Griffin; his m maternal grandparents, Harry & Birdie Dixon Henderson; his paternal g grandparents, Jim & Pauline Tillman Griffin and his girlfriend, Barbara Moore o of Brantley County. Survivors include his father, Carl Griffin, Sr. of Blackshear; his step-mother, Betty Hood of Alma; two sisters, Terry Griffin and Tammy Griffin both of Blackshear; a brother, Neal Griffin and fiance', Mary Jane Berryhill of Blackshear; a step mother, Betty Hood of Alma; two sisters, Terry Griffin and Tammy Griffin both of Blackshear; a brother, Neal Griffin and fiance', Mary Jane Berryhill of Blackshear; a step-brother, Timmy Hood of Alma; a niece, Miranda Griffin; a n nephew, Blake Minchew, and several other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Griffin were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon December 15, 2009 at the Pearson-Dial Chapel. Interment followed in the Blackshear Cemetery.
