Born July 21, 1960 in Coffee County, Mrs. Guess was the daughter of the late James Lee. She was a homemaker and attended the Axson Church of God of prophecy. A brother Ronald Lee also preceded her in death. Survivors include husband, Donnie Guess of Pearson, GA, son, Shawn Brown and wife Bea of Beaufort, SC, daughter, Holly McDonald and husband Shane of Willacoochee, GA, stepson, Payton Guess and wife Regan of Valdosta, GA; stepdaughter, Leyna Guess of Valdosta, GA, mother and step father, Dorothy and Eddie Strickland of Waycross, GA, 2 sisters, Melinda Fogle and husband Mike of Waycross, GA and Michelle Corbitt of Waycross, GA, 2 brothers, Curtis Lee and Kyle Lee of Waycross, GA, 3 grandchildren, Dillion Brown, Cassidy McDonald and Collier Guess. Father in law, Eulice Guess of Pearson, GA. Special friends, Eve Corbitt and David Gaskins. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Guess were held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2004 at the Axson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Newton Cox, Rev. Leonard Pittman and Rev. Joe Chancey officiating. Special music included "I'm Going Over" presented by Debra Cox and Angel Murray with tape accompaniment and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" played by tape. Soft music for the prelude and the postlude was played by tape. The interment followed in Hargraves Cemetery with "Amazing Grace" sung at the gravesite. Serving as active pallbearers were Gardie Lee, Derryl Lee, Shane Lott, Alan Lott, Tim Coleman, Justin White. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
