She was under the excellent care of Bethany Hospice in Valdosta, GA. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Berlin, GA on October 24, 1914 to the late M.C. and Fannie Baker Dukes. She was married to the late "H.M" Henry McCijah Hamilton, whom she dearly loved and missed. After the death of her husband she moved to Englewood, FL in 1991 and moved back to Georgia in 2005. Louise trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ and was saved by the Grace of God. She was a long time member of Ozias Freewill Baptist church. Known to many as "Granny H." She was full of life, laughter, and joy, and always put her family and friends ahead of herself. Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker and worked along side her husband on their farm in Atkinson County for many years. Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Hamilton and two daughters, Helen Griggs of Englewood, FL and Eloise Delk of Stockton, GA. Survivors include, son, Harvey H. Hamilton and wife Barbara of Pearson, GA; daughters, Mae Kelm of Pearson, GA and Judy Mercer of Stockton, GA; 12 grandchildren, Debra Dixon of Englewood, FL, Zenda Adair of Pearson, GA, Yolanda Hayes of Pearson, GA, Johnny Durrance of Pearson, GA, Allen Hamilton of Pearson, Bing Hamilton of Pearson, Joel Luke of Pearson, GA, Kevin Luke of Stockton, GA, Dukes Delk of Stockton, GA, Jason Delk of Stockton, GA, Henry Mercer of Stockton, Joshua Mercer of Stockton, GA. 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her best friend, June Sanford of Englewood, FL also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hamilton were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Ozias Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, GA with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special family memories were given by Mrs. Hamilton's great granddaughter, Heather Dixon. The Eulogy was given by her son, Harvey Hamilton. Special musical selections included, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be," "Farther Along," and "I've Been Waiting" rendered by granddaughters, Zenda Adair and Yolanda Hayes with Michael Johnson accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by pianist, Michael Johnson. The interment followed in Lang Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Johnny Durrance, Dukes Delk, Joel Luke, Allen Hamilton, Bing Hamilton, Kevin Luke. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Delk, Henry Mercer, Josh Mercer, Jimmy Corbitt, James Corbitt, Tom Dixon. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
