The Atkinson County Citizen - July 10, 2008
Mrs. Leona Burch Harrell, 83, passed away June 22, 2008. She was a longtime 
resident of Jacksonville and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
 Survivors include two sons, O.C. Harrell (Terri) and Odel Harrell (Linda); 
three daughters, Geraldine Scott (Robert), Avy Andrews, and Linda Simpson 
(Glenn); three brothers, Bill Burch, W. D. Burch, and Melvin Burch; two 
sisters, Nancy White and Ady May Ricketts; 18 grandchildren and their 
families. 
 A funeral service was held at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Hardage-
Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL.
 Another service in her honor was held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 at 
Hargraves Chapel in Axson, GA following a pass by of her farm in Axson. She 
was then laid to rest at the Axson Family Cemetery.
 The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hardage-Giddens 
Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL.
 Honorary pallbearers: Larry Burch, Jack Harris, Randall Burch, Scotty Burch, 
Sheldon Burch, Robert Burch, J.W. Ricketts, Will Burch, Byron Burch.
 Active pallbearers: Dennis Simpson, Boyd Amaud, Gerald Roberts, Larry 
Kirkland, Glen Kirkland, Lance Kirkland, D.W. Lattimer, Timmy Harrell and Chad 
Harrell.
 Funeral services were provided by Hardage-Giddens Funeral of Jacksonville.
