A native of Clinch County, Mrs. Harrell was born June 2, 1915, daughter of Thomas S. and Maggie Pearson Corbitt. After living here for 61 years, Mrs. Harrell and her husband, Harvey, decided to make their home in Branford, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Hill Congregational Christian Church. Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harvey Lee Harrell, one son, Burt Harrell, and a granddaughter, Dona Hart. Survivors include: Two sons, Aubury Harrell and wife, Louise of Branford, FL and Freddie Harrell and wife, Lillie of Branford, FL; two daughters, Karleen Vickers of Branford, FL and Peggy Dejesus and husband, Hector of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Hillman Corbitt of Pearson, GA; two sisters, Willard Vickers of Broxton, GA and Lou Nell Hollman of Dunnellon, FL. 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Harrell were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Union Hill Congregational Christian Church with Brother Greg Vickers officiating. Special musical selections included, "In His Arms, I am not Afraid" and "Keeper of the Door" rendered by the Sweetwater Creek Singers. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Lynn Hardeman, pianist. The interment followed in Union Hill Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Steve Corbitt, Bruce Corbitt, Ronald Murray, Ralph Murray, Larry Murray and Lloyd Murray. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
