Harrell, age 88, of West Green, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Coffee Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Harrell, a native of Atkinson County, GA was born July 2, 1916, daughter of the late Nedum & Lanie Rutherford Harrell. She was a homemaker, a retired public school dietitian and the widow of the late Rev. John Arthur Harrell. Her Church membership was with the West Green Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Lenora Head, West Green, GA, son, John Franklin Harrell, Southern, CA; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great- grandchildren and sister, Mrs. Homer Merritt. Funeral services were held 4 p.m. on Wednesday September 22, 2004 at the West Green Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Hayes, Rev. Jason Hayes, & Rev. Herbert Box officiating. Grandson Trevor Head gave the Eulogy. Music as follows: The West Green Baptist Church Choir sang "Amazing Grave" and "How Great Thou Art" with Amanda Hayes, pianist. Burial followed in the Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Alton Carver officiating at the graveside service. Active pallbearers were Harry Andrews, Jerry Merritt, Jim Merritt, Larry Merritt, James Moore, Alton Carver, Cleveland Register. Honorary Member of the Adult SS Class of West Green Baptist Church.
