She was born November 16, 1913 to the late John Register and the late Annie Dell Johnson Register. Mrs. Harrell, a native of Clinch County, had lived in the Axson area for many years, prior to moving to the Nicholls area. For the past few years, she had been a resident of Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker and a former school teacher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam Harrell, and a son, Jacky McCoy Harrell. Mrs. Harrell was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Pearson, GA. Survivors include, 1 daughter, Joy (Jerry) Miller of Easley, S.C; son, James F. (Clarene) Harrell of Nicholls, GA; 5 grandchildren, Randy Harrell and Keith Harrell, both of Nicholls, GA; Melanie Tucker of Ambrose, GA, Melissa Thomas of Easley, SC and Jarred Miller of Greer, SC; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the West Ward Street Church of God, with Rev Leroy Spivey, and Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. Rev. Hardy Crosby conducted the graveside services. Interment followed in the Axson Cemetery in Axson County. Active pallbearers were Randy Harrell, Justin Harrell, Keith Harrell, Trent Harrell, Jarred Miller, Derek Tucker, Nace Tucker. Special musical selections, “I’ve Got a Mansion,” and “Beulah Land,” were presented by the soloist, Derek Soles, with Robyn Vickers, at the piano. Prelude and postlude soft hymns were rendered by the pianist, Robyn Vickers. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
