A native of Douglas, GA, Mrs. Headley was born July 29, 1959, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel and Doris Knight Vaughn. She was a homemaker and attended Pearson Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Headley was preceded in death by sister, Ethel Price and brother, Johnny Mitchel Vaughn, Jr. Survivors include her father, Mitchel Vaughn and stepmother Carolyn of Douglass, GA; three sons, Brian Schotsch and wife Stephanie of Pearson, GA, Joey Headley and wife Lauren of Norfolk, VA, and Benjamin Headley and wife Alicia of Norfolk, VA; five brothers, Doug Vaughn of Milan, GA, James Griffin and wife Beverly of Wray, GA, Billy Griffin and wife Rhonda of Douglas, GA, Michael Griffin and wife Lisa of Douglas, GA, and Jason Vaughn and wife Kaci of Douglas, GA; three sisters, Mona Jones and husband Waymon of Abbeville, GA, Patsy Ammora of Statesboro, GA, and Rose Merritt and husband Chris of Broxton; five grandchildren, John Schotsch, Gabriel Schotsch, Joseph Headley, Olivia Headley, and Luca Headley; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Headley were held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Pearson Church of God of Prophecy at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hardy Crosby and Rev. Randall Rhymes. Special musical selections included “Where Angels Fear to Tread” rendered by soloist, Bridgette Moore with c.d. accompaniment, “You Raised me Up” rendered by Allen Jewell and Tina Jewell with c.d. accompaniment, “Peace in the Valley” rendered by Bekah Smith with c.d. accompaniment. Soft music for the prelude and the postlude was provided by Rita Spikes and Alisa Smith, pianists. The interment followed in Rocky Creek Cemetery with special musical number, “Wouldn’t Take Nothing for my Journey” rendered by soloist, Allen Jewell on the mandolin. Serving as active pallbearers were Ray Douglas, Daniel McNab, Billy Griffin, James Frost, Lamar Poole, Jeffrey Spivey. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
