The Atkinson County Citizen - August, 2009
Mrs. Earline Johnston Holland, passed away on August 10, 2009 after a lengthy 
illness. She believed and lived a Christian life and is now with Jesus.
 A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 3 p.m. at 
Axson Methodist Church, Rev. Ellick Bullington and Rev. Dale Thornton will 
officiate. Earline was born and lived in Axson and graduated from Atkinson 
County High School.
 She furthered her education at Georgia Southern University and Florida State 
University majoring in education and became a school teacher in Panama City, 
FL.
 She lived most of her adult life in Florida but remained an avid Georgia 
Bulldog fan. Earline had a warm and vivacious spirit and was a friend to many.
 Earline was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eula Mae Johnston. She 
is survived by her husband, Larry Holland, her son, Dude Holland and wife, 
Lucy; her daughter, Hannah Sowell and husband, John.
 Four grandchildren, Sagan and Covey Holland, and Sebastian and Christian 
Sowell, all of Panama City, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Tommy 
Johnston and wife, Shirlee, her Aunt Frances Horton; cousins Marilyn Tanner, 
Lynda Dunn, and Hinky Matthews, all of Georgia. Earline is also survived by 
her mother in law, Mrs. Thelma Holland, Brothers in law, Johnny Holland, 
Charlie Holland, Mark Holland, and Paul Holland as well as numerous nieces and 
nephews.
 She is also survived by a special friend, Barbara Adams, of Panama City, FL.
