Atkinson County Citizen - November 22, 2012
 Mrs. Mavadell Carmichael Horton, age 85, of Willacoochee, GA passed away Tu
Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, GA.
 A native of Berrien Co., GA, Mrs. Horton was born September 7, 1927 daughter o
of Daniel Luther Carmichael and Ida Mae Merchant. Before retiring she worked f
for many years as a custodian for the Willacoochee Elementary School System. M
Mrs. Horton was of the Holiness Baptist faith. Mrs. Horton was preceded in d
death by her husband, Mr. Willis Horton, Jr.
 Survivors include, 5 sons, Olen Horton and wife Virginia of Willacoochee, GA, 
Jesse W. Horton and wife Nina of Ray City, GA, Billy Horton and wife Barbara of 
Adel, GA, Darrell Horton and Retha of Willacoochee, GA and Jerry Horton and 
wife Debbie of St. Augustine, FL; daughters, Christell “Dell” Williams of 
Ocilla, GA, Christine “Dean” Luke and husband Curtis of Willacoochee, GA and 
Pat Horton of Broxton, GA; 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Horton were held Thursday, November 15, 20
2012 at 2 p.m. at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Michael Paulk of
officiating. 
 Interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Josh Horton, Kevin Horton, Danny Horton, 
Adam Benefield, Matt Horton, Anthony Mancil.
 Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
