Atkinson County Citizen - December 4, 2008
 John Walter James, Sr. passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008, in Rome, GA.
 Mr. James a native of Atkinson County, GA was born July 8, 1932; he is the son 
of the late John Ruel and Beatrice Drawdy James.
 He was a member and ordained Deacon of Morningside Baptist, Douglas GA. Mr. 
James was a retired independent insurance agent and he was owner/operator of 
the Atco Insurance Agency of Pearson, GA for 22 years. His hobbies and 
interests included enjoying family, traveling, photography, coin collecting, 
hunting and fishing.
 Survivors included wife of 52 years, Rosemary Williams James; daughters, Tamra 
James (Greg) Alexander of North Augusta, SC, Cynthia James (Carl) Davidson, 
Rome. GA and Sandra (Bob) Inwright, Athens, GA; son, John Walter (Sylvia) 
James, Jr., Douglas, GA; sisters, Peggy (Frank) Sutton, Pearson, GA, Ruel 
(Chris) Page, Eufaula, AL; brother, George (Donna) Williams, Alma, GA; 
grandchildren, Anna James & Abby Alexander, Brian Davidson, Ben Davidson & Kate 
Davidson, Mary Inwright, Julie Inwright, Sarah James & John James, nieces & 
nephews.
 Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Satilla 
Gardens Cemetery with Rev. John Walter James, Jr. officiating.
 Active pallbearers were Frank Lee Sutton, Gary Surrency, Joel Williams, 
Patrick Ferris, Ray Parker, Terrance Paulk.
 Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Good Life Sunday School Class of 
Morningside Baptist Church.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
