Southerland Jefferson, age 69, of Willacoochee, GA passed away Su Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Kindred North Fl. Hospital in Green Cove Springs, FL FL following an extended illness. A native of Conway, Arkansas, Mrs. Jefferson was born December 2, 1942 d daughter of Lester Lee and Clara Bell Hutchings Southerland. While making her h home in Willacoochee, GA for the past 36 years, Mrs. Jefferson was employed at S Shady Acres Nursing Home in Douglas, GA as a registered nurse. Mrs. Jefferson w was of the Holiness Baptist faith and a member of Willacoochee Holiness Baptist C Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas E. Jefferson, s sons, Michael Stripling and Bobby Joe Stripling; daughter, Deborah Howard A Ashley. Survivors include, son, Carlos Stripling of Douglas, GA; daughters, Catherine Darlene Moore of Lakeland, FL, Doris Rhymes and (Ronnie) of Fitzgerald and Patricia Heath of Willacoochee, GA; brothers, Royce Southerland of Baxley, GA, Rayburn Hutchins of Little Rock, ARK; Judy Mallett of Conway, ARK; 22 g grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also s survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Jefferson were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Willacoochee Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Young and Rev. David Rowe officiating. Special musical selections included, “Take my Hand Precious Lord” and “I Can’t Even Walk Without You holding my Hand” rendered by solo soloist, Mike Paulk with Jessica Griffin accompanying at the piano. Soft music for for the prelude and postlude was provided by Jessica Griffin, Pianist. The interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jeff Strickland, John Howard, Jeremy Howard, Josh Ho Howard, Sean Rhymes, Kiel Pittman. Honorary pallbearers were Clifton Heath and Kevin Heath. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
