Mrs. Jeffords was born March 29, 1927, in Clinch County to the late Alonzo Joyce and Pearl Dame Joyce. She was a homemaker, worked 20 years at Standard Container and was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God. She was the widow of H.V. Jeffords and was preceded in death by two daughters, Nelda Jeffords Johnson and Rose Marie Jeffords, son, James "Bud" Jeffords, brother, A.J. Johnson and two sisters, Mavis Mobley and Lonnie Joyce. Survivors are children, Van and Sherry Jeffords, Midway, GA, Kathryn Rogers, Hahira, GA, Jerrie and Clyde Gurley, Pearson, GA, Lottie and Bruce Creech, Tampa, FL, Robbin and Kim Jeffords, Fort Lewis, WA, Ann and Billy Joe Graddy, Fargo, GA, John Jeffords, Homerville and Alan and Vicki Jeffords, Waycross, two sisters and a brother in law; Olivia Cason, Homerville, GA, Marie and Ed Turk, Blackshear; four sisters-in-law, Naomi Jeffords, Doris Stalvey, Orie Pittman all of Homerville, GA, Evelyn Capan, Jacksonville, FL; brother in law, Lloyd Jeffords, Moorhead, NC, sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several other relatives. Services for Mrs. Jeffords were held Monday, July 10, 2006 at 3 p.m. from the Lighthouse Assembly of God. Officiating was Rev. Donald Stalvey and Rev. John Browning. Interment was in the Arabia Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Joseph Jeffords, Ken Joyce, Jeff Jeffords, Jr., David Capan, Duke Griffis, J.R. Rogers. Honorary pallbearers were her adult Sunday School class. Danny Holmes sang "Beulah Land" and "I Can Only Imagine." Roundtree Funeral Home, Homerville, GA is serving the Jeffords family.
