Mr. Jones, a native of Berrien County, was an electrician by trade. He was the son of the late George Hugh Max Jones. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the V Vietnam Era. Survivors include, wife, Anita Kay Fleming Jones of Willacoochee, GA; children, Bryan Jones of Greensboro, NC, Brandon Jones of Portland, OR, Jennifer Jones (Lane) Jurney of Greensboro, NC, step-daughter, Rhonda May of Pleasant Garden, NC; mother, Lola Mae Crosby Jones of Willacoochee, GA, Step-father, Harry Smith of Pearson, GA; sisters, Pam (Randy) Tucker of Pearson, GA and Pat Smith of Willacoochee, GA; brother, Dale Crosby of TX; 6 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 4 p.m. at the Willacoochee Church of God, with Rev. Levi Jones and Rev. Corry Nipper officiating. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Pallbearers were father, Harry Smith of Pearson, GA; sisters, Pam (Randy) Tucker of Pearson, GA an and Pat Smith of Willacoochee, GA; brother, Dale Crosby of TX; 6 grandchildren, se several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were Ashley Moore, Jarrett Tucker, Justin Delk, Richard Yawn, Jonathan Moore, Matthew Crosby, Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Stone, Bobby Hall, Grady Jewell, Merle Jewell, Johnny Powell, Larry Troupe. Special musical selections, “Amazing Grace,” was presented acappella by the soloist, Crystal Sirmans, “Dadddy’s Hands,” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” were presented by by CD music. Prelude and postlude soft hymns were presented by the pianist, La Lavonda Pittman. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
