A native of Atkinson Co., Mr. Joyner was born June 11, 1934 son of Lessie Mae Joyner. He was a retired farmer and attended Hargraves Chapel New Congregational Methodist Church. Survivors include: wife, Mary Jane Joyner of Pearson, 2 sons, Locky Joyner of Pearson, Tony Joyner and wife, Jenna of Pearson, and 2 half-brothers, Wilbur Lee Lewis and Danny Lewis, both of Pearson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Joyner were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at Hargraves Chapel Cemetery near Millwood, GA with Rev. Leonard Pittman and Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special musical selections included. "Victory in Jesus" and "When I Cross the Shoreline" rendered by soloist Charles Wood with guitar accompaniment. The interment followed in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were, Danny Spikes, Ronnie Spikes, Lee Spikes, John Mark Spikes, Wayne Lewis and Lee Lewis. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Wilbur Lee Lewis, Danny Lewis, Tim Lewis, Danny Lewis, Tim Lewis, Steve White, Gary Wooten and Shaun Moore.
