Atkinson County Citizen - September 4, 2008
 Mr. Sidney Shahee Kirkland, age 22, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 
home after an extended illness. Mr. Kirkland a native of Coffee County, GA was 
born April 22, 1986; he was a 2004 Honor graduate of Coffee High School and a 
former member of the CHS Band & Choir. He was employed with the Old Butcher 
Shop in Pearson, GA.
  Survivors include; parents, Lynn & Tony Gaskins, Axson, GA, Sidney Clyde 
Kirkland, Douglas, GA; sisters, Shelly Delynn Logue and Kelly Denise Logue, 
Ambrose, GA; Brother, Tony Shadon Fogarty, Douglas, GA; grandparents, Verdie & 
Frank Griffin, Ambrose, GA, Fannie & Carroll Kirkland, Douglas, GA, Peggy & 
Boss Davis, Millwood, GA, Gary & Sue Anderson, great grandmother, Virginia 
Griffin, Ambrose, GA, Uncles Lee Anderson, Joe Kirkland, Indianapolis, IN, 
Jimmy Kirkland, Douglas, GA and Aunt Margaret Kirkland, Douglas, GA, cousins, 
Emily Kirkland, Joseph Kirkland, Brianna Kirkland, Sebastian, Corey Kirkland, 
Daniel Anderson, Lacey Creacy, Laken Kirkland and Kelsie Kirkland.
  Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2008 at Sims Funeral 
Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Purvis, Rev. Cecil Grantham, Rev. Kyle Giddens 
officiating.
  The Eulogy was given by Traci Smith and Jake Gray. Music as follows, "Candle 
In The Wind" CD, "Go Rest High On That Mountain" CD, "Long Black Train" 
CD, "Arms Of An Angel" by Coffee Show Choir & Tania Myers, Pianist. "Amazing 
Grace" by congregation. Burial followed in the Jowers Chapel Cemetery. Active 
pallbearers were, Daniel Anderson, George Butler, Josh Swann, John Lang, Erick 
Paulk, Corey Kirkland.
  Honorary pallbearers were, Jeremiah Lowe, Von Logue, Chris Gaskins, Chris 
Meloy, Chad Tanner.
  Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
