Atkinson County Citizen - January 2006
 Jonathan Blake Leavens, age 19 of Pearson, GA passed away Saturday, December 
31, 2005.

 Born March 19, 1986 in Lanier Co., Blake had made his home in Pearson. He was 
a former student of Atkinson County High School and worked for the Atkinson 
County Solid Waste Management Authority.

 He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Frankie C. Adams. 
maternal great-grandfather, Clinton Adams and his paternal grandparents, Lige 
and Ruth Leavens.

 Survivors include his parents, Denise and Larry Garrett of Pearson, GA; 
brother, D.J. Leavens and wife Tori of Axson, GA, maternal grandparents, Denzel 
and Rose Adams of Waycross, GA, maternal great-grandmother, Gertie Adams of 
Axson, GA, paternal grandmother, Vera Garrett of Millwood, GA; niece, Madison 
Leavens and special friend, April Smith, several aunts, uncles and cousins also 
survive.

 Funeral services for Blake were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 
the Goodwill Assembly of God Church with Rev. Edward Mathews and Rev. 
Christopher Williams officiating. Special musical selections included "Jesus 
Take The Wheel" rendered by Tammy Wood, soloist, with taped accompaniment 
and "When I Get Where I'm Going" played by tape. Soft music for the prelude and 
postlude was provide by tape. The interment followed in Axson Cemetery.

 Serving as active pallbearers were, Marty Saylor, Hank Joyner, Raymond 
Corneal, Kevin Davis, Brandon Garrett, Josh Garrett, Adam Carter.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
