Lee, age 84, of Pearson, GA passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at C Coffee Regional Medical in Douglas, GA following an extended illness. A native of Willacoochee, GA. Mr. Lee was born April 20, 1929 son of George W. and Melvina Corbitt Lee. He retired after working for working thirty years as a personnel officer with the U.S. Civil Service. During his time with the Civil Service he served overseas in South Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After retirement he opened a business called “Trash and Treasures” where he enjoyed meeting people l looking for antiques or odd pieces of furniture. He was a member of American L Legion Post #173. His church membership was at Kirkland United Methodist Church. Survivors include wife, Imogene Tanner Lee of Pearson, GA; daughter, Marilyn Lee of South Hart, ND; sons, Charles A. (Chuck) Lee and wife Beth Ann of Pearson, GA, Lawrence George (Chip) and wife Roxanne of Fleming Island, FL; brother, James C. Lee of Athens; grandchildren, Shonna Lee, Richard Lee and Rhonda Lee, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Lee were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Kirkland United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Bittner and Rev. Marvin Goodman officiating. Special musical selections “In the Garden,” “Amazing Grace” and and “How Great Thou Art” were rendered by James and Gregory Presmanes who accompanied themselves on the guitar. Soft instrumentals “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and “In the Valley” for the prelude and the postlude were played by John John Lang, pianist. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Tom Lee, Ray Lee, Bruce Corbitt, Paul Bus Busch, Timothy Roan, Mike Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers were William White, Buck Morris, Gerald Hayes, Mike Nu Nugent, Jimmy Dell, Tommy Lee. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
