Mrs. Lewis was born in Coffee Country, October 14, 1916, daughter of Teedom and Beadie Burch Giddens. She was a long time resident of Atkinson County where she was a homemaker and a member of Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband "William "Bill" Lewis. Survivors include son, Henry Morris Lewis and wife Cindy of Perryton, TX; daughter, Margie Goodman and husband Marvin of Stapleton, GA; brother, A.K. Giddens of Waycross, GA; sisters, Cora Pafford of Jacksonville, FL, Dorothy McLean of Alma, GA and Opal Hodges of Jacksonville, FL. Three grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Goodman, Jake Rowe and John Rowe officiating. Special musical selections included "Father Along" rendered by Jason Fender and Michelle Harrell with Francine Fender accompanying at the piano and "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy" rendered by Jason Fender, Michelle Harrell and Francine Fender with taped accompaniment. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Francine Fender, pianist. Serving as active pallbearers were Jake Rowe, John Rowe, Julian Clement, W.L. Coley, John Long and Wayne Giddens. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Sunnyside Ladies Auxiliary. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
