Lott age 72 of Douglas and Pearson, GA passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL following a short illness. Born September 2, 1936 in Atkinson County, Mr. Lott was the son of Gardie and Rosalee Mancil Lott. He was a retired farmer and attended the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn Clark Lott and a daughter and son in law Janice and Mark Hall. Survivors include, Wife, Shirley Minix Lott of Douglas, GA; sons, Richard Lott and wife Debbie of Pearson, GA, Randy Lott of Pearson, GA; stepson, Walter Minix and wife Lynn of Douglas, GA; stepdaughter, Debbie Taylor and husband, Rick of Douglas, GA; brother David Lott of Waycross, GA; sisters, Elmarie Powell of Pearson, GA, Dorothy Pittman of Waycross, GA, Annie Rice of Nashville, GA; 7 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Lott were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 30, 2008 at the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Leonard Pittman, Rev. Tommy Greene and Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating. Special musical selections included "I Can Only Imagine: and "I Pray We'll Be Ready" rendered by John Lang pianist and Dianne Chambless on the guitar. "Go Rest High on That Mountain" was played by tape. John Lang pianist played soft music for the prelude and postlude. The interment followed in Royals Cemetery with "Amazing Grace" sung at the graveside by John Lang and Dianne Chambless. Serving as active pallbearers were Patrick Lott, William Lott, Shane Lott, Allen Lott, Michael Thomas, Anthony Miller. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
