She was born on September 13, 1937, to the late Sherman and Lorene Hill of Meridian, MS. Mrs. Mansfield was preceded in death by her parents, the late Sherman and Lorene Hill; her husband, the late John Henry Mansfield; siblings, Shelly Hill, Milton Hill, Rose Harris, Billy Hill, Bertha Jean Hill, and one grandson, Keyon Mansfield. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Billy (Sandy) Joe Perry of Ambrose, GA, and James Henry Mansfield of Jasper, FL; two daughters, Mildred Mansfield of Douglas, GA, and Carol Mansfield of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Adriana Mansfield and Latasha Mansfield both of Pearson, GA, Chante Brown of Jasper, FL, Dumont’a Perry of Pearson, GA, Terrance Speed of Douglas, GA; great- grandson, Dumont’a Perry, Jr.; five siblings, Mary Parnell of Willacoochee, GA, Delouis (Rose) Bell and Josephine Wilson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Dora (Daniel) Wilson, Alma (Oscar) Hill-Zelaya, Ray (Pearline) Hill, all of Douglas, GA, Herman (Virginia) Hill of Pearson, GA, and Grace hill of Daytona, FL, and a host of special nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Prayer and Praise Ministry, Pearson, GA, with Pastor Jerry Lee Braswell officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Crossroad in Pearson, GA. Honorary pallbearers were Deacon Daniel Wilson, Deacon Edwards, Deacon John Lee Fullmore, Deacon Jackie Alexander. Active pallbearers were Terry Harris, Jimmy Dale Bolden, Melvin Harris, Tommy Harris, Mark Alexander, Kevin Harris. Harrell’s Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
