He was born Sept. 21, 1947 in Atkinson Co. to the late Karl Von Emden “Tuff” and Myrtle Slade McCranie. He was Senior Vice President with the Bank of Alapaha; was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Glory United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Graham McCranie of Alapaha; two sons, Kyle McCranie, Valdosta, Blake McCranie, Alapaha; two step daughters, Heather Day, , Holly Harkleroad, both of Broxton; three step grandchildren, Adyson, Conley, and Ella; two brothers, Bill McCranie, Willacoochee, Slade McCranie, Morven; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn Rowan McCranie, who died Oct. 7, 1997 and also a brother, Karl McCranie. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Vaughn and the Rev. Jack Atkinson officiating. Interment will be held in Glory Cemetery, Visitation will be held this evening from 6 and Myrtle Slade McCranie.
