Douglas Enterprise - March 26, 2014
 Mrs. Melva Harper McDonald, age 89, of Willacoochee, passed away Monday 
evening, March 17, 2014, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an 
extended illness.
 She was born January 12, 1925, to the late Lewis Harper and the late Bessie 
Pridgen Harper.
 Mrs. McDonald, a native of Coffee County, was a homemaker. She was the wife of 
the late Willie J. McDonald, and mother of the late Laymond McDonald. Mrs. 
McDonald was a Baptist by faith and had been attending Westwood Baptist Church.
 Survivors include daughter-in-law, Bonnie McDonald of Willacoochee, GA; three 
grandsons, Willie Neal McDonald, Laymond (Karla) McDonald, Jr., and Keith 
McDonald and friend Ann Warren all of Willacoochee, GA; four great-
grandchildren, Morgan McDonald of Willacoochee, GA, Zach McDonald of Broxton, 
GA, and Raelyn & Jeremy Dill, and Karmon Warren all of Willacoochee, GA; two 
great-great-grandchildren, Abby McDonald of Douglas, GA and Gunner Dill of 
Willacoochee, GA; several nieces, nephews, friends and other  relatives.
 Funeral services were held Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Westwood 
Baptist Church, with Rev. George C. Paulk officiating. Special musical 
selections, "What a Day," and "Amazing Grace," were presented by the Westwood 
Baptist Church Choir, led by Lamar Sutton, with Ruth Vickers, at the piano. 
Prelude and postlude soft hymns were rendered by the pianist, Ruth Vickers.
 Active pallbearers were Kerry Moore, Donnie Giddens, Jeremy Dill, Roy Joiner, 
Richard Vickers, Ed McDonald.
 Interment followed in the Purvis Cemetery.
 Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
