Atkinson County Citizen - September 23, 2010
 Mr. Housan McGovern, age 81, of Pearson, GA passed away on Thursday, September 1
16, 2010 at his residence in Pearson, GA.
 Mr. McGovern was born on September 27, 1928 to the late Henry and Lula Douglas 
McGovern in Pearson, GA. Mr. McGovern was a farmer and a member of the 
Sunnyside Church. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 
2 p.m. in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Teddy Burch officiating. 
John Steven Lang, pianist, played both the prelude and postlude and also played 
and sang "Go Rest High On That Mountain," Michael Johnson also played and 
sang "I'm Not Afraid to Die." Burial followed in the Arna Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Lee McGovern, Logan McGovern, William Henry Corbitt, Stephen
Spradley
Spradley, Arron Lollie, Debra Corbitt.
 Honorary pallbearers were Clifford Taft, G.D. Moore, Theopolis Lott, Larry 
Johnson, Quillan Taft, Al Williams, Gary Johnson, Julian Haskins, Roy Haskins.
 Survivors include wife, Mavis Smith McGovern, Pearson, GA; son, Kenneth Lee 
(Gay) McGovern, Douglas, GA; daughter, Debra (Mann) Corbitt, Axson, GA; sister, 
Betty Murl Bazemore, Pearson, GA; 5 grandchildren; William Henry Corbitt, Axson
Axson, GA; Wendee (Stephen) Spradley, Tifton, GA, Lee McGovern, Douglas, GA, Weslee
Weslee (Arron) Lollie, Douglas, GA, Logan McGovern, Douglas, GA; great 
grandson, Braydon Lollie; several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
