Atkinson County Citizen - January, 2006
 Mrs. Lannie  Douglas McKinnon, age 90, of Pearson, GA passed away Wednesday 
evening, January 4, 2006 at home following an extended illness.
 A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. McKinnon was born October 24, 1915 daughter 
of Thomas and Elizabeth Lott Douglas. She was a homemaker and a member of the 
New Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
 Mrs. McKinnon was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Horace McKinnon, 2 
grandchildren, Lawanna Michelle McKinnon and Jesse Aaron McKinnon and a great-
grandson, Jacob McKinnon.
 Survivors include son, Douglas McKinnon and wife, Shelba of Pearson, GA and 
daughters, Novara Vickers and husband Elle of Pearson, GA and Judy Russ and 
husband Harry of Pearson, GA, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, 
two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. McKinnon were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 
2006 at New Harmony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Wilkes, Rev. Don 
Harper and Rev. Jerry Chancey officiating.
 Special musical selections included "Victory in Jesus" and "Amazing Grace" 
rendered by the congregation with Al Wayne Hulsey accompanying at the piano, 
and "Jesus Loves Me" and "I'll Fly Away" rendered by the New Harmony Grove 
Baptist Church Choir with Al Wayne Hulsey accompanying at the piano. Soft music 
for the prelude and postlude was provided by Al Wayne Hulsey, pianist.
 The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Charlie Russ, Dougie McKinnon, Ricky Davis, 
Jeremy Russ, Casey Wright and Derrick McKinnon.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
