The Atkinson County Citizen, Pearson, GA
Rebecca Purvis McMillan died November 14, 1964 at Colonial Nursing Home in Ben 
Hill Co, Fitzgerald, GA. She was born April 25, 1874 in Coffee Co. now 
Atkinson Co., GA. She is the daughter of the late Jacob and the late Delilah 
Harper Purvis.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Paulk Church near Lax, 
with the Rev. E.D. Willard and Rev. V. R. Meadows officiating. Interment was 
in the Paulk Cemetery. Survived by one son, Quincy McMillan, Willacoochee; one 
sister, Mrs. Loran Shortridge (Aunt Lizzie), Orleans, Ind.; one brother, 
Richard Purvis, Atlanta; five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 
Pallbearers were: Jimmy Metts, Larry Metts, Amos Wingate, Wilson Paulk, Gerald 
Lee and Lucious Jacobs.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Additional Comments:
This was my great grandmother and she always lived with my grandparents, 
Quincy & Stella McMillan. They had to put her in the nursing home about a 
couple of months before she died because my grandfather was real sick and it 
was too much for my grandmother. She died about 35 day before her only son.
