Atkinson County Citizen - June 2006
Gerald McMillan, age 52, of Willacoochee, passed away Saturday, June 3, at his 
home following a brief illness.

Born July 26, 1953, in Irwin County, McMillan was the son of J.Q. McMillan and 
the late Ouida Purvis McMillan. He was a retired farmer and of the Methodist 
faith.

Survivors include: His daughters April Tanner and husband Locke of New Orleans, 
La., and Angie McMillan of Atlanta; his father J.Q. McMillan of Willacoochee; 
his granddaughter Ella Tanner; his sister Belinda Newmans and husband Darrell 
of Brookfield; his brothers Roy McMillan of Alapaha, Joe McMillan and wife Lynn 
of Ambrose, and Jessie McMillan and wife Becky of Willacoochee; his former wife 
Sherrill McMilan of Tifton; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives 
also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist 
Church in Willacoochee, with Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Special musical 
selections "Till The Storm Passes By" and "Amazing Grace" were rendered by 
soloist Tammy Paulk with taped accompaniment. Tammy Paulk also provided soft 
music for the prelude and the postlude. Interment followed in Paulk Cemetery.

Active pallbearers included Clyde Futch, Jr., Danny Ray McMillan, Perry 
McMillan, Bill McMillan, Craig Purvis, Michael Purvis, Billy Paulk and Walt 
Durden.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements
