A native of Willacoochee, Mr. McMillan was a retired U.S. Navy veteran serving on on active duty from 1948 to 1968, a member of Fleet Reserve until 1978 and was st still an active member of Fleet Reserve Branch #89. He retired from the U.S. Po Postal Service in 1989 after 20 years of service. He was a Master Mason in the Tu Tucker Masonic Lodge #42 F&AM, a member of the Ticker Shrine Club and the Ya Yaarab Shrine Temple Atlanta and an active member at Cedar Lake Golf Club. Survivors include, wife, Wynelle Giddens McMillan; son Kenneth McMillan and w wife Carolyn of Lawrenceville, GA.; daughter Karen McMillan Carter and husband W Wayne of Lawrenceville, GA; Brother, J.Q. McMillan of Willacoochee, GA; sisters, Florence McMillan Futch of Willacoochee, GA and Florene McMillan Bobo of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Brad McMillan, Matt Carter, Amy and Kevin Thompson; great-granddaughter, K Kensley Thompson; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. McMillan were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Bill Huffstuttler officiating. Special musical selection was “Amazing Grace” rendered by the congr congregation. The interment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery with Milit Military Honors provided by a US Navy Honor Guard Contingent. Serving as active pallbearers were Clyde Futch, Walt Bobo, James McMillan, Dann Danny Ray McMillan, Bill McMillan, Jessie McMillan.
