Mrs. McRae was born in Bainbridge, GA, June 22, 1948, daughter of the late George W. White and Rosa Lee Gainous White. She had been a long time resident of Atkinson County. Mrs. McRae was co-owner of McCrary Daniels Insurance Agency in Douglas, GA for many years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pearson, GA. Mrs. McRae was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth White. Survivors include husband, Chris McRae, Sr. of Pearson, GA; son, Paul McRae and wife Susan of Newnan, GA; daughter, Amie Bennett and husband Stacy of Douglas, GA; mother, Rosa Lee White of Bainbridge, GA; brother, Gerald White and wife Rita of Sasser, GA; sister, Mary Alice Godwin and husband Johnny of Thomasville, GA; sister in law, Gail White of Bainbridge, GA; three grandchildren; Austin Bennett, Grant Bennett, Logan McRae; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. McRae were held at 11 a.m. Friday morning, April 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Pearson, GA with Rev. Chris Carpenter and Rev. Bob Pierce officiating. Special musical selections included, "Blessed Assurance" and "How Great Thou Art' rendered by the congregation with accompaniment by pianist, Mary Ann Williams and organist, Candace Brown. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Mary Ann Williams, pianist and Candace Brown, organist. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers were, Joe Day, William White, Wade Brown, L.H. James, Foster Davis, James F. Smith. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
