Tifton Gazette - May 19, 2009
    Stella Benson Mixon, 71, of Tifton, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Osceola 
Nursing Home in Ocilla. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the 
chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Steve Hood 
officiating. Burial followed at Oakridge Cemetery. Nephews served as 
pallbearers. Mrs. Mixon was born Nov. 1, 1937 in Atkinson County and was the 
daughter of Gilford Rowe and Maude Harper Rowe, both deceased. She was a 
homemaker and a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Mixon is survived 
by her husband, the Rev. Curtis Mixon of Tifton; one son, Darrell Benson of 
Tifton; one daughter, Barbara Benson Taylor of Tifton; one brother, Rudolf F. 
Rowe of Nashville; and one granddaughter, Rebecca Lee Taylor. Mrs. Mixon was 
preceded in death by one brother, J.R. Rowe, and one granddaughter, Emilee 
Taylor. Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
