Born July 12, 1926 in Ware Co., Mrs. Mizell was the daughter of Raymond "Cado" and Belle Powell Giddens. She had worked for many years at Cady Industries in Pearson, GA and was a member of Lang Country Church. Preceding her in death was a brother Raymond Giddens, Jr. and her husband, Spencer Mizell. Survivors include; 4 daughters, Reba Mizell and husband Donald of Axson, GA; Sue McClellan and husband Ronald of Valdosta, Ga; Latrelle Peters and husband Robert of Valdosta, GA; and Audrey Swilley and husband Gary of Savannah, GA. 3 sisters, Barbara McGill of St. Pauls, N.C.; Christine Webb and Linda Kirk of Jacksonville, FL, 2 brothers, Riley Lloyd Giddens and Johnny Giddens of Douglas, GA. 8 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Mizell were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at Lang Country Church with Rev. Clyde Purvis and Rev. George O'Berry officiating. Special music was as follows soloist Angelia Jones with taped music presented "Beulah Land" and "The Anchor Holds" was presented by soloist Gail Infinger with taped music. The congregation sang, "I'll Fly Away" with Ms. Elaine Floyd at the piano. Pianist Elaine Floyd played soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude. The interment followed in Lang Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons; Jason Peters, Derek Peters, Travis Mizell, Brandon Mizell, Dustin White and Garrett White. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters: Miki Clogston, Diane White, Lori Mizell and Amanda Leviton.
