Orman was born in Axson, GA on March 24, 1925 to Aaron and Cappie White Mizell, the oldest of twelve children. He was raised in Axson , where he attended elementary school, later graduating from Pearson High in 1943. Like his father and grandfathers, Orman was a devoted farmer. He loved the soil and crops, sometimes working them with sweat and watering them with tears. When his father accidentally broke his back in 1945, Orman moved his wife and new baby into the home of his parents so that along with his crops, and his wife took care of his siblings for that year, while Papa Buzz was hospitalized in Atlanta. He met Margaret Hettie Musgrove, the love of his life, while attending Pearson High School. They married in Millwood, GA on July 1, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Orman felt that one of his greatest accomplishments in life, other than his beloved family, were the opportunities that he and Margaret had to serve as Temple and Genealogical missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They served in the England Genealogical Center on England's 1880 Census and in the Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA Temples, for a total of 5 missions. Orman is survived by his daughter, Margie (Jan) Anderson of Payson, Utah, his son Jesse Wayne (Tracy) Mizell of Axson, his daughter-in-law, Gisela Mizell of Axson and Ohio; brothers, Aaron Mizell, Jr. (Jean) of Warner Robins, GA and Harold Mizell (Kathryn) of Mineral Bluff, GA; sister-in-law, Vonnell Mizell of Douglas, 3 brothers-in-law, Tommy Musgrove (Wilma) of Rome, GA, Edwin Musgrove(Ona) of Millwood, GA and Joe Musgrove (Mary) of Douglas, GA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Orman Mizell were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Pearson Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Kevin Merrell, Bishop Dan Vickers and Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. Special music selections included "How Great Thou Art," "O My Father," and "God Be With You Till Meet Again" rendered by the attending congregation with Ellen Hardee accompanying on the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Ellen Hardee, pianist. The interment followed in Little Utah Cemetery with dedication of the grave by son-in-law, Jan Anderson. Serving as active pallbearers were Brian Mizell, Tyler Mizell, Orman Anderson, Marshall Mizell, Brett Mizell, Nicholas Fincher. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Mizell, All of the grandchildren of Orman and Margaret Mizell and the Pearson Ward High Priest. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
