Mr. Moore was born April 6, 1932, to the late Elva and Clarence Moore of Willacoochee. He had lived in Liberty County since 1955. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served during the Korean conflict. After the war, he went to work with the Fort Stewart Forestry where he retired after more than 32 years of service. Mr. Moore was a member of the Elim Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce L. Wilkinson Moore of Hinesville; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Steve Granger of Umatilla, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lori Moore of Jesup; brothers, Clarence Moore of Willacoochee and Roy Moore of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Billy and Gail Childs of McClenny, FL; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Bell. The family visited with friends Saturday evening at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Pallbearers were the deacons. Remembrances can be made to the Elim Baptist Church Building Fund. Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
