Atkinson County Citizen - January 2005
 Mr. Jimmy Carlton Murray age 56 of Pearson, GA passed away Sunday, January 9, 
2005 at Rt. 1, Pearson following an extended illness.

 A native of Atkinson Co., Mr. Murray was born July 24, 1948, son of the late 
Jim and America Bowen Murray. He worked for the City of Pearson for many years 
and attended Ozias Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by 
a brother Johnny Ray Murray.

 Survivors include one son, Jimmy Carlton Murray of Savannah, GA; daughter, 
Rebecca Murray of Pearson, GA; three brothers, James Murray, Jr. of Pearson, 
GA, Clayton Murray of Millwood, GA and Shelton Murray of Douglas, GA; 3 
sisters, Shirley Adams of Oxford, AL, Latrelle Jordan of Pearson, GA and Faye 
Morgan of Douglas, GA. Special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey and Barbara 
Hamilton of Pearson, GA and several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Funeral services for Mr. Murray were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 
2005 at Ozias Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, GA with Rev. Larry Johnson 
officiating. Special musical selections included "Go Rest High On That 
Mountain" rendered by Greg and Lisa Soles with tape accompaniment 
and "Serenaded By Angels" rendered by Derrick Soles with tape accompaniment. 
Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Joyce Johnson on 
keyboard. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.

 Serving as active pallbearers were Teddy Burch, Chester Brown, Clifford Pope, 
Steve Soles, Layne Gurley and Bobby Lashley.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
