Durden http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00025.html#0006039 May 6, 2008, 11:12 pm The Atkinson County Citizen, Pearson, GA Mrs. Maude Jowers Myers, age 77, of Rt. 1, Willacoochee, GA, passed away Sunday, October 24, 1993 at her home following an extended illness. Born April 17, 1916 in Atkinson Co., GA, Mrs. Myers was the daughter of the late Avner and Huldah Katherine Rowe Jowers. On October 21, 1933, she married Walter Virgil Myers. They had two daughters, Bonnie and Shirley, then lost infant twin sons in 1940. Late in that same year, they moved to Winter Haven, FL both working and raising their family. In 1969, they retired and returned to Willacoochee, GA and established their home on the old Avner Jowers place. Mrs. Myers was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Walter Virgil Myers of Willacoochee, GA; two daughters, Bonnie M. Kunberger of Willacoochee of Willacoochee, GA and Shirley M. Robertson of Augusta, GA; one sister, Ella Mae Tucker of Ocilla, GA; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 1993 at Beulah United Methodist church with Rev. Ray Yody officiating. "Amazing Grace" and "There's A Miracle In Me" were sung by the Beulah Trio. "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the congregation. Beth Paulk accompanied at the piano and provided soft music for the prelude and postlude. The interment followed at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with the following serving as active pallbearers: John F. Kunberger, Walter A. Kunberger, Jack Tucker, Johnny Frank Myers, Gerald Hayes and Edward Jowers. Honorary pallbearers were great nephews and other close relatives.
