Neugent, age 94, of Kirkland, GA, formerly of Jacksonville, FL passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Shady Acres Convalescent Center in Douglas, GA, following an extended illness. Born September 12, 1920, in Kirkland, GA, Mr. Neugent was the son of Willie and Mary Ann Flanders Neugent. He was retired from CSX Railroad and was a veteran of WWII, U.S. Army Signal Corp. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearson, GA but while living in Jacksonville was a founding member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Blackburn Neugent and his second wife, Stella Mae Hawkins Neugent. Survivors include his four sons, Allen Neugent and wife Johanna of Woodbridge, NJ, William Paul Neugent of Glen St. Mary, FL and David James Neugent and wife Deborah Starke, FL; daughter Ann N. Halligan and husband John of Arlington, TS; two brothers, Talmadge Neugent of Waycross, GA, and Henry Neugent of Kirkland, GA; sister, Thelma Darley of Kirkland, GA; four step-children, Herman Graham of Douglas, GA, Donell Graham of Valdosta, GA, Annie Ruth Corbitt and husband Raymond of Homerville, GA and Kathryn Graham of Axson, GA; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Neugent were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, GA with Father Paul O’Connell officiating. Graveside services and interment followed at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, FL with Military Honors rendered at the graveside by an Honor Guard Contingent from the U.S. Army Florida National Guard.
