Atkinson County Citizen - June 12, 2008
 Mr. Jessie William "J. W." Nugent, age 73 of Willacoochee, GA passed away 
early Saturday morning at Shady Acres Convalescent Center in Douglas, GA 
following an extended illness.
 A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Nugent was born July 16, 1934, son of Jessie 
and Hattie Vickers Nugent. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. Mr. Nugent 
was an avid hunter and fisherman and a long time member of the Alapaha Hunting 
Club. His church membership was at Holy Family Catholic Church.
 Survivors include wife, Mary Rowe Nugent of Willacoochee, GA; daughters, Linda 
Thombs and husband Bill of Douglas, GA, Brownie Clark and husband Tommy of 
Willacoochee, GA; stepdaughters, Regina Corbitt and husband Barney of Jesup, 
GA, Laura Spikes and husband Jimmy of Willacoochee, GA; sisters, Mary Frances 
Dennis of Montgomery, Al, Linda Venson of Tucker, GA; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services for Mr. Nugent were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008 at 
Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Lucree officiating. Special 
musical selections included "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and "I'll Leave 
this World Loving You" rendered by soloist Jason Hunkapillar with tape 
accompaniment. The interment followed in Holy Family Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Jerry Cooper, Charlie Gray, Keith Thompson, 
Glen Dykes, Richard Harper, Mike Nugent.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
