A native of Montera, Mexico, Mr. Ortega was born, August 27, 1972, son of Mr. and Mrs. Efren and Maria Trugillo Ortega. He worked for the past twelve years as a mechanic for Lee Container Company in Homerville, GA. Mr. Ortega was an avid soccer player and fan. He attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Pearson, GA. Survivors include wife, Mary Jane Douglas Ortega of Pearson, two sons, Armando Ortega, Jr and Angel Ortega of Pearson; two daughters, Isabel Ortega and Autumn Ortega of Pearson; mother, Maria Trujillo Ortega of Monterey, Mexico, three brothers, Marcus Ortega of Monterey, Mexico, Leon Ortega of Monterey, Mexico and Luis Ortega of Willacoochee; sister, Isabel Ortega of Monterey, Mexico; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Ortega were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Goodwill Assembly of God in Pearson, GA with Rev. Jimmy Spikes and Rev. Lonnie Spikes officiating. Special musical selections included, “Freebird” and “Simple Man” rendered by soloist, Scott Colburn, accompanied by c.d. and Spanish version of “One Day at a Time” rendered by c.d. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery with special song, “Amazing Grace” rendered by attending congregation. Serving as active pallbearers were Luis Ortega, Lamar Ortega, Edwin Cuello, Lester Nugent, Damian Reyes, Hector Hernandez. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Daniel O’Quinn, Marshall Johns, Rogelio Hernandez, Victor Valenzuela, Pedro Herrera. Relihan Funeral home in Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
